Find Band Members

Unless you are a solo act or you can play every instrument imaginable, you are going to need some band mates. Maybe your sights are set on your band camp buddies from high school or maybe your sister just needs to be convinced to leave her day job, but if the musical genes don’t run in the family, or you played football instead of the flute, you’ll have to find great musicians that are a good fit for you and your dream band.

How do you find them?

First you need to think about what kind of sound you are looking for and what instruments your band mates need to play. Then, who will complement your own skills or traits? For example, do you need someone with technical or recording skills, an extroverted personality?

Make a list of all the people you think you need. We have provided some places to look for them.
